FAQ’S
ARE THE CLASSES OPEN-LEVEL?
Yes. We welcome all levels of students to come and try any class. We have a “do what you can” philosophy for all our students in every class we offer. Our teachers will support you by offering modifications and adjustments as needed.
That being said, in order to make your class experience with us the best that it can be, we offer guidelines on our Class Description page so that you can find the best class that suits your own level of physical fitness and knowledge of yoga postures. Our Practice Flow classes are the most accessible to beginners and provide more opportunity for teachers to make individual adjustments as needed.
ARE ALL THE CLASSES HEATED?
Yes. Every class we offer uses infrared heating technology to heat the yoga room. Not all classes are heated to the same degree of warmth. Practice Flow is the gentlest level of warmth around 85 to 90 degrees. Power Flow is moderate at 90 to 95 degrees. And Hot Flow is hot at 95 to 100 degrees. All classes will make you sweat…a lot.
WHY INFARED HEAT?
We are one of the only yoga studios in the area that utilizes infrared heating technology (think of the feeling of warming rays of sunshine) to heat the yoga room. Instead of simply blowing hot air at you, the infrared technology heats you up from the inside out.
AM I READY FOR A CLASS AT PRACTICE YOGA STUDIO?
All you have to do is come with an open mind and a positive attitude! Do not be nervous or fearful. Everyone around you that is practicing with you in class was new to yoga at one time. The Practice Yoga Community is one based off of comradery and friendliness.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRACTICE FLOW, POWER FLOW, AND HOT FLOW?
Practice Flow is a set series of postures practiced in the same order in every class. The teacher fully guides you thru class form start to finish with no free flow time. Power Flow and Hot Flow are both flow classes. Power Flow is not as fast paced as Hot Flow and there is a bit more structure to class with the teacher guiding you thru most of the class with a little bit of free flow time. Hot Flow is dynamic and fast paced, with the teacher offering guidance where needed to build each flow but then allowing students ample time to make it each flow their own expression of their yoga practice.
Can’t decide? We recommend trying all three classes and let us know what you think.
ARE ALL CLASSES IN A DARK, CANDLE LIT ROOM?
Yes. All classes are in a dark room that is lit with lots of candle light. Your yoga practice is your journey on your mat. We want to take away any external distractions that would shift your internal focus away from yourself while at the same time providing a comforting space for you to practice in.
Our Practice Flow class is offered with more ambient light in the room but the room is still considered dark.
ARE ALL CLASSES PRACTICED WITH MUSIC?
Yes. Music heavily influences the dynamic nature of each class. Part of the fun is coming to class and practicing to different playlists curated by each teacher. It keeps classes interesting and the beat of the music helps keep you flowing on your mat. The playlist is matched to the style of class with our Practice Flow having a more chill vibe and our Warrior Flow and Vinyasa Flow having a more energetic and up-beat vibe.
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I GIVE MYSELF BEFORE CLASS TO ARRIVE?
We recommend arriving 15 minutes before class to check in, set up your mat, talk with the instructor if need be and prepare yourself for your class by filling up your water bottle. Plus, it gives you a chance to meet and catch up with other Practice Yoga Studios yogis.
DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?
Yes. We have one shower available for use at the studio.
WHAT DO I NEED?
You. A positive attitude. Your mat. A towel. And lots of water to drink! We have a water bottle refilling station for your use. Don’t stress if you don’t have a mat and towel. We have got you covered.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Comfortable athletic clothes that allow you to move freely in all postures, including inversions. Wicking fabric tends to be ideal as you will sweat. No shoes or socks inside of the yoga room.
DO YOU RENT MATS AND TOWELS?
Mat and towels are on us if you forget to bring your own. We also sell bottled water.
DO YOU ACCEPT CASH?
No, unfortunately we are unable to accept cash. We accept credit and debit cards.
CAN I SHARE CLASS PACKAGES?
Sadly, no. Class Packages, Unlimited Memberships and Workshops are limited to one person per package and are non-transferable.
